Magnolia Senior Housing is a two story residential apartment complex consisting of 52 ¬affordable senior housing units. NDD provided the structural design and calculations for the entire complex.
• Certified LEED Platinum project by the USGBC
• One of the first Virtually Net metered solar systems in the state of California
• The solar electric system serves both the residences and the common area through virtual metering
• The project site was formally a storm water retention basin for surrounding properties – the retention basin was placed below grade and the storm drain water is now used for on-site irrigation where 99% of the planting is drought tolerant
• The buildings are Energy Star rated and HERS rated with numerous energy saving measures integrated throughout the design
