Designed, Engineered & Constructed by Nakhshab Development & Design
The steep hillsides of Mission Hills
lent itself to the modern three story design
of
the 4,055 square foot single-family Revival
Residences. To preserve the lot's city and bay
views, NDD in conjunction with Hector Magnus,
of Architect Magnus, created a three-story cascade
that weighs in at just over 4,200 square feet.
The multi-level layout may make the residence
seem inaccessible to most (in some areas 15 foot
high retaining wall were needed), so we have
incorporated
a nearly silent hydraulic lift elevator to allow
for easy access from the first to second floors.
One of the most unique aspects of this project
is what you will find next door: a mid 1960's
post-war modernist residence by famed local architect
Homer Delawie. Wood siding, detailed landscaping,
and a natural environmental setting maintain
a warm touch to the modern design and add visually
to Homer Delawie's original design next door.
What we have with this residence is a homage
to
one of San Diego's greatest architects, Homer
Delawie, a look towards the future by retaining
warmth in a modernist design, and a sense of
accessibility that can appeal to diverse market.
