Designed, Engineered & Constructed by Nakhshab Development & Design
The terrain in the Mission Hills neighborhood
can be very steep and often times remodels,
additions, and new construction projects have
a lot of unique grading and design challenges
to contend with to create an effective use
of space. With the existing post-war single
family
Delawie Residence, NDD acted in conjunction
with Chris Robinson Designs and the client
to
preserve the majority of the original architect's,
Homer Delawie, vision into the soul of the
new
residence. We've taken Delawie's 1000 square
foot 2 bedroom residence and expanded it into
a three-story 3300 square foot home with deck
views reaching out over San Diego Bay, while
retaining and highlighting aspects of the renowned
architect's classic choices. NDD in
the structural design of the house kept many
of
the key interior features to the house and
when adding features to the exterior, tried
to keep
within the original architectural character
by mimicking, when possible, original structural
specifications.
